I have been racing for Mercedes-Benz since my DTM debut in 2006 and felt really comfortable with them right from the start. I’m extremely motivated and in the off-season, I prepared both physically and mentally for a hard-fought season. Due to the fact that all the drivers will be racing new cars, I expect the field to be more competitive and the racing to be closer than ever. With Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, the 2012 DTM grid will feature three premium-car manufacturers and consequently, we certainly are about to witness a thrilling and interesting season.”
Mercedes-Benz motorsport Director Norbert Haug: “Susie has set herself particularly ambitious goals for 2012 and is really keen on securing good results, this year. She often succeeded in thrilling me with her pace displayed in the races and there aren’t many DTM drivers and champions on the grid she hasn’t given a hard time with her fighting spirit, at times. Should she succeed in securing good grid positions and making excellent starts, with the latest generation of our DTM C-Class Coupé, Susie should be able to shine more than ever, this year. We all are looking forward to her seventh season as member of our driver line-up and I’m convinced that it won’t be the seven year itch, for her.”
