Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline

In 2002, Abt made for the big coup: as independent team, Abt entered DTM with the Audi TT-R 2000 and just two years later, they won the drivers’ title courtesy of Laurent Aiello. And in 2004, the year of Audi’s comeback in DTM, the squad around Hans-Jürgen Abt once again was the one to win both the drivers’ – courtesy of Mattias Ekström – and the team titles. In 2007, Ekström repeated this feat and in the following two years, Timo Scheider won the drivers’ championship for Abt twice, thus giving the Kempten based team a title hat-trick. Scheider’s triumph in 2009 was the fifth and last championship won by Abt to date. In the coming season, Ekström, Edoardo Mortara, Nico Müller and Miguel Molina will try to add more DTM silverware to the team’s trophy cabinet.
