To date, the Hungaroring was part of only three DTM calendars. In 1988, the series made its debut at the circuit located not far from Hungary’s capital, Budapest, in 2014 DTM returned for its second appearance on Hungarian soil and last year, the series returned to the Hungaroring after a one-year-break. While Formula One has been a regular guest in Hungary since the circuit was opened in 1986, the DTM drivers are going to race there for the only fourth time, from 16th to 18th June. While the circuit is located in a valley, the grand stands are placed higher and consequently, the spectators can witness the action on about 80 percent of the track – perfect conditions for the fans.
