Mercedes-AMG Motorsport DTM Team

30 years ago Mercedes-AMG Motorsport began the first chapter of a long and successful motor-sport history by entering DTM with a works squad. And now, in their final DTM season, a group of six drivers, featuring DTM Champions, race winners and returnees, will race for the brand with the star. After a one and two-season break respectively, Daniel Juncadella and Pascal Wehrlein are back in the cockpit of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM. With Wehrlein (2015), Paul Di Resta (2010) and Gary Paffett (2005), the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport DTM Teams features three DTM champions. Furthermore, the line-up comprises Lucas Auer and Edoardo Mortara who also have won races and battled it out for the title. But that’s not all: team captain Gary Paffett is contesting his 15th DTM season, this year, and consequently was involved in 50 percent of the 30 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport years on the DTM grid. Furthermore, Pascal’s comeback marks the return of the youngest champion in the history of DTM. In the 2015 season finale, one day prior to his 21st birthday, he finished the season as his team’s fifth DTM Champion. “2018 will be our final year in the DTM but that doesn’t change anything when it comes to our readiness to enter the fray, our enormous team spirit and our commitment. Every single member of our team, the drivers, the mechanics, the engineers and our hospitality crew are all highly motivated. We intend to work together in pursuit of a common goal in order to bring a positive conclusion to the final chapter of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport’s involvement in the DTM which goes back 30 years.”
