Describe your 2015 season by dint of six terms: Starting into the season as rookie always is something special. You’re kind of thrown in at the deep end. You have to learn swimming quickly to not be devoured. Particularly in the DTM with all its sharks. In the closing stages of the season, however, I had made some progress and even was able to annoy some of the bigger ones, every now and then. But to be offered the chance of racing for a team like Mercedes-Benz with such a great tradition is already something really special. To do so always has been my dream and now, this dream has come true. I have to thank Mercedes-Benz and AMG for their trust in me.

My nicest DTM moment in 2015: Scoring my first points in Spielberg was really great. But my highlight weekend definitely was the one at the Nürburgring.

My worst/most disappointing DTM moment in 2015: I had to learn that home races usually don’t run as good as you hoped they would. In both rounds at the Norisring I was forced into the pit very early and this definitely hadn’t been my plan. But that‘s racing and on the other side, I had a bit more time for all my friends who had come to the Norisring. :-)

My personal highlights of the year 2015 (both private and job-related): To find out what you can achieve with love and a goal you set yourself. Things never go up all the time and you also have to cope with setbacks. My motto is “Never give up”, no matter if in my private life or when it comes to racing. I am happy when I look back in both areas and can say with pride: "That’s exactly what you want." And that’s what I’m giving 100 percent for. Always.

That’s what annoyed me in particular (both in my private life and job-related): That you can give your very best but sometimes, you nonetheless can’t achieve what you wanted to. Occasionally, things just aren’t running the way you hoped they would.

My favourite DTM colleague: All the eight Mercedes-Benz drivers are top. And Daniel in particular.  We spent a lot of time together and he revealed a lot of tips and tricks, for me. Having him as team-mate was just great. Thanks for that, Daniel. We laughed a lot and I hope that he succeeded in improving his German a bit.

My most exciting/most thrilling 2015 DTM weekend: Definitely Spielberg. I felt so close to scoring my first DTM points but then, in the closing stages I lost my cool and made some mistakes. So, I really believed that that was it but in the end, I did make it to the points. It was an up and down and in addition I could witness the drama between Timo, Pascal and Robert from the first row. I just couldn’t believe what was going on.

The biggest surprise of the 2015 season, for me: That the racing in DTM is even closer than you believed.

This change / these changes I would love to see for the 2016 DTM season: Performance-weight evaluation should be adapted. Even more on-track action and in addition, a really good paddock party with all the drivers and hot girls (It goes without saying that the drivers don’ drink alcohol.)

If I hadn’t become a motor racer I would have liked to be a …?: I’d like to be a farmer. A lot of tractors and animals. Flying jets also would have been nice but I’m wearing glasses, the lateral forces arguably would have always ripped the glasses of my nose.

That’s what I like particularly:  My family, friends, honesty, tolerance and fairness. The four seasons. Fast, racy cars. Freedom. Sports, travelling. That I can live my dream. Blind trust and my big love.

That’s what I don’t like at all: Arrogance. . To not stand by one’s own words. Intolerance, lack of sportsmanship, bad temper and cold feet.

The motto of my life: Never give up. You live just once and should give your maximum every single day – Live is too short for having bad temper.

My goal for the 2016 DTM season: To regularly add points to my tally. And I want a podium.

My favourite racetrack: Spa. I have won my toughest race, there. The 2014 Spa 24-Hour race together with Bernd Schneider and Max Buhk, in the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3. .

My role model/s: My family, my friends.

My favourite sportsman/sportswoman: Bernd Schneider, Michael Schumacher

My favourite song: There are several tunes. It depends on the situation. But more than anything I love listening to music à deux.

My favourite band: There are superstars like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston the Stones or Marlon Roudette – they all are real world stars. Marlon I know face to face. He already sang for me and my friends. That was amazing.

My favourite movie: Rush. I was involved in the making. To watch the film in the cinema with that knowledge feels really special. Pearl Harbor also was a great movie, showing that love is imperturbable and that friends stick together, no matter what happens.

My favourite actor /actress: Every soccer player

My favourite dish: Bavarian, Italian. But altogether I eat a lot of things and I am open for new experiments. But I also really like Germknödel.

My favourite car (apart from your DTM racer): All the Mercedes SLS AMG I have driven so far. And that’s quite a lot.

I am a good DTM driver because…: Because I’m ready to fight and give my very best. Furthermore, I’m a team player.
