Champion René Rast on Tour
About a week after having won the DTM title, Audi works driver René Rast visited - at Mayor Michael Jäcke’s invitation – his birthplace Minden. The 30-year old signed numerous autographs and was available for selfies. Highlight of the day in Minden: the DTM Champion drove his Audi RS 5 DTM on the city’s marketplace.
In the evening, Rast visited the town of Bückeburg, located some 10 kilometres from Minden, where he met a lot of people who accompanied him during periods of his motor-racing career. “Thank you for this fantastic surprise party,” beamed Rast. “This was a great evening with old companions, friends and the family – a day I will remember for a long time.”
Afterwards, the schedule took him to Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm. At the two Audi facilities, employees and fans of the brand had the opportunity to meet the new DTM Champion. In Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm Rast was accompanied by the 2017 DTM Vice-Champion Mattias Ekström, Le Mans winner Loïc Duval and GT-racing ace Markus Winkelhock who won the Laguna Seca 8h race on the weekend of the DTM season finale.
Now, Rast will take a short holiday before his schedule features quite a lot of other PR appointments and award events in November and December.
