DTM Record Champion Bernd Schneider takes Zandvoort Pole

Zandvoort – Once again, he outclassed the young guns! With his AMG-Mercedes C-Class, four-time DTM Champion Bernd Schneider succeeded in securing pole position, at the Dutch Zandvoort circuit. Behind Schneider, two Opel drivers caused a stir: With their Opels Vectra GTS V8, Marcel Fässler and Heinz-Harald Frentzen will be second and third on the grid for the 2005 season’s eighth DTM round, while the championship favourites, Gary Paffett and Mattias Ekström, had to settle for fourth and fifth grid positions respectively. The eighth round of the season will start tomorrow at 14:00hrs.
