Duval has a successful start of his day
All three manufacturers did well in third free practice of the DTM at Brands Hatch on Sunday. The fastest driver at the Grand Prix circuit was Audi’s Loïc Duval with a time of 1m18.760s. Next up were Mercedes-AMG driver Paul Di Resta (1m18.850s) and BMW’s Timo Glock (1m18.903s).
“First in free practice, that is a good start of the day. Especially after yesterday. However, we also know that qualifying is our weak point. In free practice, we are always competitive. Now, we have to try to get everything from the car. Hopefully we can keep up the speed,” Duval said. On Saturday, he ended up in the gravel bed of the Druids hairpin after his mandatory pit stop and had to retire.
Behind an Audi trio with Nico Müller (1m18.996s), René Rast (1m19.909s) and Jamie Green (1m19.041s), yesterday’s race winner Daniel Juncadella (1m19.155s) ended up seventh. “Yesterday was perfect. This morning, I had a good feeling in the car. Now, I will attack with fresh tyres in qualifying,” the Mercedes-AMG driver commented.
