Mattias Ekström wins at the Nürburgring

Behind the wheel of his Audi A4 DTM, Sweden’s Mattias Ekström won the seventh round of the 2005 DTM season, held at the Nürburgring. Ekström’s brand-mate Tom Kristensen crossed the line 1.08 seconds behind the leader to finish second, while AMG-Mercedes C-Class driver Gary Paffett secured third place. By securing his second win in the 2005 season, Ekström (51 points) regained the championship lead, with second placed Paffett (50 points) following extremely close behind.
