Quick and Dirty: Marco Wittmann
Short questions, fast answers. DTM.com wanted to know how quick-witted the drivers are. Here you will find out personal things about the drivers racing in the touring-car series. This time it’s Marco Wittmann’s turn.
Please tell us three attributes describing you as racing driver...
Ambitious, determined, constant.
Who was your teenage idol?
Michael Schumacher. This certainly applies to many German racing drivers. After all, he made for the German motor-sport boom. Today, I admire Alex Zanardi whom I know in person. The way how he deals with his handicap and all the medals and triumphs he already has achieved... He is a role model – and not only regarding his successes as sportsman but for everybody.
Is there a sport you have no talent in at all and why?
Quite a few. Most definitely tennis and football. I always was good in everything on wheels but not so good in everything else. You just have to accept that there are sports you’re a slouch in.
What would your profession be if you hadn’t become a racing driver?
The profession I actually already was trained for and that I still partly am working in: coachbuilder, accident repairs.
If you had the chance of meeting a celebrity: whom would you choose and why?
I’m not too interested in the celebrity world. Actually there really is nobody I’d like to meat or have lunch with.
What would you do without your smart phone?
That would be really difficult. Of course I’m able to keep myself busy without my mobile. But it’s part of your life, today. We use it for the social media and so on. A few days without smart phone certainly would be a nice change but sometime, I certainly would be overcome by my addiction.
