Quick and dirty: Philipp Eng
Short questions, fast answers. DTM.com wanted to know how quick-witted the drivers are. Here you will find out personal things about the drivers racing in the touring-car series. This series will accompany you in random order throughout the 2018 season. This time it’s Rookie Philipp Engs turn.
Please tell us three attributes describing you as racing driver …
Flexible, paying attention to the detail, fast.
Who was your teenage idol?
My parents. My shares were absolutely worthless when I started karting. And they spent nearly all their money for my career. That was impressive. And Sebastian Vettel. We jointly were in the Red Bull Junior Team. He always was one or two classes ahead of me and I always wanted to be as successful as him.
Is there a sport you have no talent in at all?
Beach volleyball. I’m completely hopeless. We played beach volleyball during the fitness camp. Do you remember school, when they are choosing the team and you always are the last to be chosen? That’s what happened to me in the camp.
What would be your profession if you hadn’t become a racing driver?
Professional racing cyclist.
What headline dealing with you would you like to read about you?
Eng is DTM Champion.
What would you do without your smart phone?
That’s a good question. I definitely would have more leisure time. I probably would read more books.
