R-Motorsport appoints DTM rookie Jake Dennis
Hot on the heels of the announcement of Paul Di Resta, Aston Martin entrant R-Motorsport has revealed details of the second of its four-driver team.
British driver Jake Dennis will join his countryman, and will make his DTM debut behind the wheel of an Aston Martin Vantage.
“Getting into the DTM is a big step in my career,” said the 23 year old. “I’m really up for the challenge, and I know I have to prove myself in thiscompetition. I’m really looking forward to developing as a driver - DTM is the perfect place for me to learn.”
Dennis has already experienced a strong start to his 2019 season: in February, he finished a heartbreakingly close second in the Bathurst 12 Hours, sharing an R-Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage V12 with Marvin Kirchhöfer and Matthieu Vaxivière.
R-Motorsport team principal Florian Kamelger added: “Jake is a great talent, and has shown it GT3. He was a reliable leader for us last year - we know exactly what he can do, and think he’ll quickly establish himself in DTM.”
Dennis has considerable sports car experience in the Blancpain GT Series, the ADAC GT Masters,and Le Mans.Additionally, he has tested in Formula 1 with Red Bull Racing, and took part in last year’s DTM Young Driver test at Jerez.
