Tomczyk clinches first pole this season

Martin Tomczyk secured start place number one for Sunday’s race in the MOTOPARK Oschersleben, the seventh race of the DTM season. The young driver from Rosenheim lapped the fastest time of 1:20.752 minutes in his Audi A4 DTM on the 3.667 kilometre-long course. It represents Tomczyk’s second pole position of his DTM career to date. Second place in qualifying went to his team mate Tom Kristensen, 0.076 seconds off the pace. The winner last weekend, Gary Paffett, secured the third start place behind the Audi duo in his AMG-Mercedes C-class. Manuel Reuter, fastest on Friday and in free practice on Saturday, was the best Opel driver in fifth in his Opel Vectra GTS V8. Current championship leader Mattias Ekström, the last driver to start, came seventh behind Christijan Albers.
