DTM United – strong partners for a new era

New technical regulations, new manufacturers and joint events with SUPER GT herald a promising new era for the DTM and ensure that the series will be a top-level sporting event as a communication and marketing platform. The DTM has been able to rely on loyal partners for many years. They make the most of the stage provided by the DTM and have contributed to making it what it is today – an outstanding product. The long-standing series partners include fuel supplier Aral, automotive supplier Bosch, who provides the control units for the brands involved in the DTM, DEKRA – now in the 30th year of cooperation as official technical partner of the DTM –, logistics giant Deutsche Post DHL Group and tyre maker Hankook. Equipment providers and sponsors include ATS, who produce the official DTM wheel, Carbon as official champagne supplier for the awards ceremonies, Remus, manufacturer of sports exhaust systems, and Richard Mille as official timekeeping partner. The DTM and its partners share a passion for motorsport, where top performance levels, uncompromising technical innovation, team spirit and willpower make the difference between winning and losing. The German Motorsport Federation (DMSB, “Deutscher Motor Sport Bund”) functions as the supreme guardian of the regulations, which are the result of close cooperation between the DTM umbrella organisation ITR, the DMSB and DEKRA.

ARAL ultimate

Since 2005, DTM has been racing “powered by Aral Ultimate” and has been relying on the competitiveness of the leader on the German petrol-station market. Aral is the exclusive fuel sup- plier of DTM and all the DTM racers are solely fuelled with 102 octane Aral Ultimate gasoline.

The advanced fuel makes for trendsetting standards when it comes to combining performance and efficiency by the Aral engine cleaning anti- dirt formula. And this does not only apply to the DTM engines as the Aral customers can fuel their cars at the petrol stations with exactly the same gasoline as the DTM aces at the circuits.

The Aral anti-dirt formula is a component of every Aral fuel. The Aral Ultimate fuels make for a particularly clean combustion, thus allowing for more power while reducing the fuel consumption at the same time. Thanks to these features, the Aral high-performance fuel meets another desire of the DTM engineers: extremely high efficiency and consistently   high quality throughout the season, allowing the teams to precisely adapt their engines to the fuel.


Bosch remains a DTM partner in 2019. For many years, the cooperation with the DTM has focused on innovative technology, performance and the reliability of the race cars.

All race cars in the series boast highly complex motorsport technology and numerous Bosch products.  The motorsport control units and engine management software allow a host of parameters to be set up on an individual basis and support analysis of lap data. This allows the race team engineers to compare the results of various set-ups.

This in turn allows fast, precise engine and chassis set-up. The high-end display in the cockpit also provides the driver with all relevant information about the car. The extraordinarily tough conditions encountered in DTM races underline just how robust and reliable the products are. Bosch has been involved in motorsport for 115 years, supporting numerous racing teams and drivers on their way to success. That motorsport tradition lives on at Bosch.


DTM and the internationally leading expert-organisation DEKRA are closely connected by a partnership that has been lasting for 30 years, now. In other words: when DEKRA joined DTM, Gary Paffett, the 2018 champion was just 7 years old.

The partnership has got two main goals: first of all, the safety of all those involved and in addition, level playing field for all the competitors.  In the partnership with Germany’s motor racing authority, DMSB, DEKRA’s technology experts supervise the compliance with the regulations within the framework of the scrutinising. With their know- how they also were involved in the enhancement of the technical regulations. The majority of the DEKRA staff that are involved in the DTM project usually work for the DEKRA Technology Centre Lausitzring where they examine driving dynamics, exhaust fumes and other things and apply the latest standards while doing so. The latest DTM safety concept was developed and realised with the support of DEKRA. All the static and dynamic tests for the homologation were executed at the DEKRA in FIA and DMSB approved examination and test centres.

“Driving emotion” – that’s the motto of premium-tyre manufacturer Hankook. 2019 will be the ninth year as tyre partner of DTM. The “Ventus Race” slicks that have been specially developed for the spectacular Aston Martin, Audi and BMW touring cars will be used for the fourth consec- utive season in the dimensions 300/680 R18 (front) and 320/710 R 18 (rear).

And the wet weather version, the Ventus Race Rain, once again will be used unmodified – just as it was the case in 2018. Hankook’s DTM tyres are peppered with top technology and consequently, the drivers may rely on the appropriate, consist- ently efficient motor-racing tyres at any time.

The company invests above average in research and development.  And their latest product launched for the European roads – in 2019 – is the Ultra-High-Performance tyre Ventus S1 evo 3.  During the development of the latest S1 version, Hankook attached particular value to wet-weather grip and another enhancement step when it comes to handling as well as steering precision at top speed.
